Meet the fastest byrd ever. This dynamic expression of the Cara Cara 2 Lightweight combines all of the proven qualities of this popular model with the extreme deployment speed of an Emerson Opener. Invented by noted custom knifemaker Ernest Emerson, this integral hook at the spine of the blade snags the pocket as the knife is drawn, opening the knife within the blink of an eye. The full-flat-ground blade of this knife is crafted from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, is to be had with a collection of edge configurations, and is paired with a lightweight deal with featuring non-slip injection-molded FRN scales, skeletonized stainless steel liners, a stout back lock, and a four-position hourglass clip.
BYRD KNIVES – Designed for the budge-conscious knife user. It includes a “Comet Hole” design which allows swift one-handed opening. Byrd knives offer the similar functionality and versatility as other popular Spyderco models.
FULL-FLAT GRIND – This knife includes a blade ground with flat bevels that extend from the spine all of the way to the cutting edge. This grind reduces drag all through cutting and decreases overall weight.
FRN HANDLE – Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon is a polymer mixed with glass fiber then injection molded into formed and textured lightweight high-strength knife handles.
BACK LOCK – This locking system is located at the back of the deal with that uses a rocker arm that pivots within the center. A lug on one end of the arm engages a notch within the blade’s tang to lock the blade open.
